Our team is pleased to announce the general availability of SLASCONE 7.1, highlighting the following features:

  • Reseller Portal
    • Branding: You can now customize the look (colors, title) of your reseller portal in order to reflect your company’s CI.
    • Customer Management: The vendor can now decide if resellers are allowed to create new customers or not.
    • Self-Service User Administration: Resellers can now invite their colleagues to the Reseller Portal.
    • Email Configuration: Resellers can override the vendor’s (default) email configuration, so that emails to their customers are sent from their domain.

  • Expiration Date – Timezone
    • Until now, the expiration date was (fix) 00:00 UTC time, creating problems (a license might expire some hours later or sooner than desired) in scenarios with different timezones. You can now set a license’s exact expiration time in the respective time zone.

  • Customer Portal
    • Sessions: Customers (Licensees) have now access to the session management (just as vendors have always had). Thus, they can monitor in real-time the usage of their floating tokens.
  • Custom Domain – my.slascone.com
    • Instead of my.slascone.com, you can now set a custom domain such as licensing.<yourdomain>.com.
  • Maximum number of licenses for a specific named user
    • In case a named user has more than one license for a specific product, the client application has to decide which one is valid or even “aggregate” them. While this is a valid scenario, in most cases you want to make sure that a named user can only have one license per product.

  • Email Provider – Azure Communication Services (ACS)
    • Since SMTP does not support modern authentication methods such as 2FA/MFA, you can now switch to Azure ACS (strongly recommended).

  • LastModifiedBy API Header
    • When creating/editing any entity using one of the apiKeys, the LastModifiedBy field of the respective entity has been set to the name of the key (e.g., ModifiedBy = ‘ProvisioningKey‘). You can now set a custom value instead, by adding an http header LastModifiedBy = ‘CustomValue‘.

  • Health Check
    • SLASCONE has an integrated healthcheck logic, which ensures that every environment works properly and sends automatic alerts in case of any problem. This logic is now available as a public endpoint, which can be used in any of your workflows. This is complimentary to the official API health status.
  • UI/UX Improvements
    • Performance: The performance during the initial login has been dramatically improved.
    • When creating or editing an edition, you can now select/deselect all entities with one click. This facilitates scenarios with many features since it allows you to activate them all, or make them all adjustable, at once.
    • Customer/Reseller Portal: you are no longer able to delete the last administrator (prevents a lock which would require the vendor to manually add an administrator).
