SLASCONE 10.0 is now generally available, introducing more granular control over concurrent licensing, consistent timezone-aware analytics, and several improvements that simplify integration and day-to-day license management.

Here is what’s new in SLASCONE 10.0:

  • Floating Limitations
    • SLASCONE 10.0 extends floating licensing to individual limitations. You can now control not only how many clients can use a license concurrently, but also how many can simultaneously use a specific feature or capability.
    • For example, a license may allow 10 concurrent application sessions, while a specific premium feature is limited to only 4 concurrent sessions. The remaining users can continue using the application, but access to that particular feature is restricted until capacity becomes available.
    • License-level and limitation-level floating can be used independently or combined. Each floating limitation can also have its own session period and overusage policy, giving you fine-grained control over concurrent usage.

  • Transparent Timezone Handling
    • With SLASCONE 10.0, the timezone used for analyzing and displaying data is now clearly visible and configurable.
    • A System Timezone can be defined centrally, ensuring that users across different locations see consistent analytics and reports. If a user’s local timezone differs from the configured System Timezone, they can easily choose between System Timezone and Local Timezone directly in the date filter.

  • Default Email Options
    • Product email templates can now define default sending options. You can preconfigure whether to send yourself a copy, use your email address for replies, and attach the license file, while still allowing these options to be changed before sending.

  • Custom IDs
    • SLASCONE automatically assigns a random internal UUID to every entity created in the portal (e.g., customer, reseller, product). You can now optionally specify this UUID yourself. This simplifies integrations, migrations, and synchronization between environments by allowing the same entity IDs to be maintained across DEV, PROD, and other systems.

  • Further Improvements
    • Customer Multiselect: you can now select multiple customers at once in the main license view, making bulk search and analysis more convenient.
    • Session Description: Sessions can now include an optional description, allowing you to store additional human-readable information that is not interpreted by SLASCONE’s licensing logic.
